It’s time to ring the wedding bells. This week, The Cinematic Schematic is reviewing Kristoffer Borgli‘s The Drama starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.

It’s not often a romantic comedy (or at least a movie marketed like one) is the source of so much online conversation. The A24 film has been praised by some critics and criticized by others as irresponsible or insensitive. The marketing hasn’t been forthcoming about the film’s main premise. What could be such a triggering subject embedded inside this mid-budget star vehicle?

We’re not saying a word before the spoiler section of this week’s episode.

The subject at the heart of the premise, which is completely missing from the marketing, is also the film’s greatest dramatic asset. Not only does it create tension and dark comedy within the fiction, but it also serves as a powerful conversation starter once the credits have rolled.

Is misleading marketing worth the provocative conversation?

All of this and more will be covered in this week’s episode.
