The deadCenter 2026 is Finally Here
Schools out, the sunscreen’s on, and the cool air conditioning of a movie theater has never sounded better. It must be time for the 2026 deadCenter Film Festival! Where do I go to get started? What movies are playing? In today’s episode of The Cinematic Schematic, we’re here to provide all the information you need to prepare for the action in downtown OKC from Wednesday, June 10th, to Sunday, June 14th.
To give you the lowdown on everything you need to know, host Caleb Masters is rejoined by co-host Laron Chapman (wearing his deadCenter Head of Pride Programming hat), and special guests Paris Burris (Shorts Programmer), Kevin Ely (Sr. Features Programmer), and Julia Witcher (Shorts Programmer) in her debut podcast appearance.

What to Expect from the 2026 deadCenter Film Festival
The film festival kicks off in Bricktown on Wednesday, June 10th at 4 PM with a red-carpet rollout featuring Oklahoma filmmakers, and perhaps a few celebrities. Badgeholders and ticketholders can watch the Okie Shorts Block (always one of the most popular), followed by Keep Quiet (starring Lou Diamond Phillips) on opening night.
After the festival starts, badgeholders will be able to choose from nearly 200 films, learn from community workshops and panels, and experience the wide variety of movie theaters and party venues in downtown OKC.
