The Cinematic Schematic is here with a special edition to ring in the 2026 summer movie season.

The summer 2026 blockbuster season has begun. The first major release this year is The Devil Wears Prada 2 (now playing by the time you’re listening). After a couple of summers that failed to recapture the box office mojo of the pre-COVID era,

This summer, we’ve got lots of sequels (Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Toy Story 5, Evil Dead Burn), spin-offs (Supergirl, The Mandalorian and Grogu),  and a few big ideas from auteurs (I Love Boosters, Disclosure Day, The Odyssey), and a few soulless cash grabs (Moana, Minions & Monsters)

In this bonus episode, hosts Caleb Masters and Laron Chapman talk about their most anticipated 2026 summer movie, check in on the big 2026 box office bet, and discuss the “Avengers: Dunesday” hype and the latest on the Warner Bros. Discovery acquisition saga at Paramount.
