Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich producer Amanda Presmyk joins The Cinematic Schematic to talk about creating one of the most shocking and twisted horror movies in recent memory with writer S. Craig Zahler. In our review, Christopher Shultz described the use of violence as meaningful when he said “this is gore for the sake of social commentary, in grand the tradition of George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead, Brian Yuzna’s Society, and Takashi Miike’s Audition, among other titles.” Amanda touches on how the 2018 context may have shaped the film’s ideas before detailing how the team worked with S. Craig Zahler to come up with the film’s most mind-blowing kills. She also discusses how the team at Cinestate approached this soft reboot in respect to the series creator Charles Band’s previous films. Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich Synopsis
During a roadtrip to a convention for the 30th Anniversary of the infamous Toulon Murders, a comic book nerd, his new girlfriend and his best friend come face to face with a set of sadistic nazi puppets out for blood. A reimagining of the Charles Band classic, this uproarious horror comedy starring Thomas Lennon, Udo Kier, Barbara Crampton, Nelson Franklin, and Charlyne Yi pays homage to the Full Moon features of the late 80s, early 90s.
